Who is the main character of the fairy tale sleeping beauty. Encyclopedia of fairytale heroes: "Sleeping Beauty"

PI Tchaikovsky wrote music for only three ballets. But they are all masterpieces and are part of the repertoire of theaters around the world. We will consider a summary of the ballet The Sleeping Beauty.

Creation of a work

Having finished the Fifth Symphony and the opera The Enchantress and reflecting on the idea of The Queen of Spades, Pyotr Ilyich received an order from the head of the Imperial Theaters Directorate I. A. Vsevolzhsky to create a ballet. Initially, the composer was offered a choice of two themes: "Salammbo" and "Ondine". However, Tchaikovsky himself refused the first, and the libretto of the second was considered unsuccessful. At the end of 1888 (December), Marius Ivanovich Petipa gave Pyotr Ilyich the libretto of the ballet The Sleeping Beauty. The composer already had a brief, musical, sketchy: the prologue, the first and second acts. It was only January 1889. The third act and the apotheosis were composed in spring and summer, also during a trip to Paris, Marseille, Constantinople, Tiflis and Moscow. In August, rehearsals were already underway, and at the same time the composer was finishing the ballet instrumentation. During this time, Tchaikovsky and Petipa met frequently, making changes and clarifications. The score of The Sleeping Beauty reflects the maturity of Pyotr Ilyich. It has a general solidity, careful development of situations, pictures and images.

Performance staging

M. Petipa, who possessed an outstanding artistic imagination, developed each number, considering its duration, rhythm and character. The famous theater artist M.I.Bocharov made sketches of the scenery, and Vsevolzhsky himself, in addition to writing the libretto with Petipa, also drew sketches for costumes. The performance should be incredibly beautiful and historically accurate - this was what all the participants wanted.

The premiere took place in St. Petersburg during the Christmas holidays in 1890, January 3. The festive performance caused a mixed reaction. Some of the critics considered the ballet too deep (but they just wanted to have fun). The audience gave their answer. He expressed himself not in thunderous applause, but in 100 percent fees and in a full hall at every performance. The talent of the choreographer, his high exactingness to the actors and the brilliant music merged into a single whole. On stage, the audience saw an incredibly beautiful and deeply thought-out performance. It was a joint creation of two geniuses: the ballet The Sleeping Beauty. A summary will follow below.

 • King Florestan and his consort, their daughter Aurora.
 • Contenders for the hand of the princess are princes: Fortune, Cherie, Fleur de Pois, Charman.

 • Prince Désiré and his mentor Galifron.

Prologue

We begin to present a summary of the ballet The Sleeping Beauty. In the ceremonial hall of the palace of King Florestan, celebrations in honor of the christening of the baby princess begin. The invited ladies and gentlemen line up in beautiful groups according to the instructions of the stewards. Everyone is waiting for the arrival of the royal couple and the invited fairies. To the solemn sounds of fanfare, the king and queen enter the hall. Behind them, the nurse's nurses carry the princess's cradle. After this, it is announced that the fairies have arrived.

The last one is the Lilac fairy - the main goddaughter of the princess. Gifts are prepared for each of them. At this time, news arrives, and the forgotten, uninvited fairy Carabosse appears. She's awful. Her cart is being pulled by nasty rats.

The butler throws himself at her feet, begging for forgiveness. Carabosse pulls out his hair with a vicious laugh, the rats quickly eat it. She announces that her gift is an eternal dream, into which the charming princess will plunge, pricking her finger. Everyone is terrified. But here the Lilac fairy appears, who has not yet presented her gift. She bends over the cradle and promises that a handsome prince will appear, who will wake up the young girl with a kiss, and she will live joyfully and happily.

First act

The princess has a birthday. She is 16 years old. Holidays are everywhere. The villagers dance, dance and have fun in the park of the king. 4 princes have arrived, and they are eager for the girl to choose her fiancé. Accompanied by the ladies-in-waiting with bouquets of flowers and wreaths, Princess Aurora rushes in. The princes are shocked by her unearthly beauty. With a half-childish playful grace, the girl begins to dance. The princes join her.

This is a light, airy variation in The Sleeping Beauty ballet. The summary should be continued by the fact that the princess suddenly notices an old woman sitting in the corner. She holds the spinning wheel and spindle and beats the beat with them. The princess flies up to her, grabs the spindle and, holding it like a scepter, begins to dance happily again. The four princes cannot stop looking at this sight. Suddenly she freezes and looks at the hand on which the blood flows: the sharp spindle pricked her. How will the plot of the ballet "Sleeping Beauty" continue? The summary can describe that the princess begins to rush, and then falls dead. Father, mother and princes rush to her. But then the old woman throws off her cloak, and the creepy fairy Carabosse appears in front of everyone at full height. She laughs at the general grief and confusion. The princes rush to her with swords, but Carabosse disappears in fire and smoke. From the depths of the stage, the light begins to glow, expanding - a magic fountain. The Lilac fairy appears from its jets.

She consoles her parents and promises that everyone will sleep for a hundred years, and she will guard their peace. Everyone returns to the castle, carrying Aurora on a stretcher. After a wave of a magic wand, all people freeze, and the castle is quickly surrounded by impenetrable thickets of lilacs. The fairy retinue appears, to which she orders that everyone is strictly watching so that no one can disturb Aurora's peace.

Second act

A century has already passed. Prince Desiree on the hunt. First, the courtiers appear to the sound of horns, and then the prince himself. Everyone was tired and sat down to rest, but then girls come out who want to become the prince's wife. The dance of the duchess begins, then the marquis, then the princes and, finally, the baroness. Desiree's heart is silent. He didn't like anyone. He asks everyone to leave, as he wants to rest alone. Suddenly a fantastically beautiful boat appears on the river. From it comes the godmother of the royal son - the Lilac fairy. The intriguing summary of Tchaikovsky's ballet The Sleeping Beauty continues. The fairy learns that the prince's heart is free and shows him the shadow of Princess Aurora, all pink in the setting light of the sun. She, dancing, now passionately, now languidly, all the time eludes the prince.

A charming girl appears every time in a place where the prince does not expect to see her: now on the river, now swinging on the branches of trees, now she is located among the flowers. Desiree is completely fascinated - this is his dream. But suddenly she disappears. The king's son rushes to the godmother and begs her to take him to this divine creation. They get into a mother-of-pearl boat and float down the river.

Night falls, and the moon illuminates their path with a mysterious silvery light. Finally, the enchanted castle becomes visible. The thick fog above him gradually dissipates. Everything is asleep, even the fire in the fireplace. With a kiss on the forehead, Desiree awakens Aurora. Together with her, the king and queen and the courtiers wake up. This is not the end of PI Tchaikovsky's ballet The Sleeping Beauty. The prince begs the king to give him a daughter as beautiful as dawn. The father joins their hands - such is fate.

Last action

On the square in front of the palace of King Florestan, guests from all the fairy tales of Charles Perrault gather for the wedding. The King and Queen, the bride and groom, the fairies of jewels: Sapphire, Silver, Gold, Diamonds go out under the march.

All the guests - characters of fairy tales - pass to the slow solemn polonaise in the dance:

 • Blue beard with his wife.
 • Marquis Karabas with his Puss in Boots.
 • Beauty "Donkey skin" with the prince.
 • A golden-haired girl with a royal son.
 • Beast and beauty.
 • Cinderella with the prince.

Each pair of characters has its own original musical and choreographic episode.

They are all bright and expressive. It ends with a waltz of the newlyweds, the theme of the Lilac fairy sounds in the music.

Then the general dance begins, which turns into an apotheosis - a grateful eulogy to the fairies, built by Tchaikovsky on the old song "Once upon a time Henri IV". The ballet The Sleeping Beauty, the content of which we have described, ends with a general stormy whirlwind. But to get the full impression of a magnificent fairy tale, you must see it on stage.

The Sleeping Beauty ballet: a summary for children

From the age of six, kids should be introduced to the wonderful synthesis of music, movements, costumes and decorations. Since the heroes of the ballet do not speak, the parents should explain to the kids what is happening on the stage by reading the libretto or presenting our retelling of the ballet. Children who are already studying at a music school have heard some of the ballet music pieces. They study it in music literature lessons.

Tchaikovsky, "Sleeping Beauty" ballet: analysis

Mountains of materials are devoted to the analysis of the work. Boris Asafiev expounded it especially deeply. We confine ourselves to briefly saying that the plot is built on the confrontation between good and evil. A good beginning triumphs over the evil that the fairy Carabosse embodies. Enchantingly beautiful ballet, a masterpiece of the composer, from the first moments captures the viewer's attention.

The deep music of PI Tchaikovsky brought about a complete reform in the art of ballet. She not only accompanies the dancers' movements, but forces the performer to think over the smallest details of the character of his character and convey this to the viewer. The lyrics of the ballet are distinguished by special light romance and festivity.

 • Inspired by the libretto, the composer made his first recordings for the Russkiy Vestnik magazine.
 • The premiere of the extravaganza was very expensive due to the sets and costumes. All historical information related to the 17th century was taken into account.
 • Emperor Nicholas II attended the dress rehearsal with his family.
 • The most famous melody (in B-flat major with deviations in F major) from the ballet is a waltz on the theme of the Lilac fairy, transparent and gentle, from the first act. It is attended not only by adult dancers, but also by children from the choreographic school.

What the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale teaches
The fairy tale teaches, inviting guests not to make exceptions and not to forget anyone. Teaches caution and foresight. It teaches you not to despair and try to fight to the end. Teaches you to argue with fate, not to believe in predestination.

Review of the fairy tale "Sleeping Beauty"
I liked this story about the sleeping princess, although it is difficult to single out any central character in it. All are equally important to this plot and do almost nothing. Maybe only the prince boldly walked through the forest and this can be called a feat.

Read a summary, a short retelling of the tale "Sleeping Beauty"
Once upon a time there was a king with a queen, and for a long time they did not have children. But suddenly a daughter was born, and to celebrate, the king made a grand feast, calling all the neighbors to him.
And of course, the king invited the seven fairies who lived nearby, because he thought that they would give the newborn princess magical gifts.
However, in the midst of the feast, the eighth fairy appeared, the oldest one, about which everyone forgot, because they thought that she was dead. This fairy appeared and was offended that she did not have enough gold cutlery.
And now it's time to give gifts. The first fairies wished the newborn beauty, intelligence, the ability to dance, and the old fairy wished to die from a spindle prick. Everyone who heard this prophecy almost died of fear themselves.
But it turned out that the seventh fairy let the old fairy go ahead on purpose in order to be able to correct her prediction, because she suspected this fairy of evil intentions.
And the seventh fairy said that in fact the princess will not die, but simply fall asleep for a hundred years, and then the handsome prince will wake her up.
The king, of course, banned spindles and spinning wheels in the kingdom, but this did not help. Fifteen years later, the princess at the very top of the old tower found an ancient old woman with a spinning wheel, and pricked her finger. She immediately fell asleep, as the fairy predicted.
And the king sent a messenger for the good fairy, and when the fairy arrived, she made it so that, together with the princess, all her maids of honor, servants, butler and dog plunged into sleep. Even fire and water fell asleep. Only the king and queen remained awake.
They went to their capital and forbade their subjects to approach the sleeping castle.
A dense and thorny forest grows around the castle.
A hundred years have passed. Many kings have changed. The castle has long been forgotten.
And so a young prince was hunting in its vicinity. He noticed a high tower, and asked the servants what kind of castle was in the middle of the forest. One of them, the oldest, told the prince about the sleeping princess, and the prince wanted to see the princess with his own eyes.
He went to the castle, and the forest parted in front of him, closing right behind him, so that no servant could make his way after the prince.
And the prince went to the castle and saw people sleeping around. At first, the prince took them for dead, but then he realized that they were just sleeping.
He climbed the tallest tower and saw a beautiful princess. The prince liked her so much that he knelt in front of the princess, and at that very moment she opened her eyes.
The princess saw the prince and fell in love with him. And the lovers stood for a long time and looked at each other.
Meanwhile, everyone in the castle woke up and really wanted to eat. So the old lady-in-waiting took the risk of reporting to the princess that breakfast was served. The prince took the princess into the hall, and the princess was not embarrassed that she had an old-fashioned dress, because the prince did not tell her about it.
And after that there was a wedding and everyone was happy.

ACTION ONE

Palace of King Florestan.

The King celebrates the birth of his long-awaited daughter Aurora. Guests from all over the kingdom came to the palace. Master of Ceremonies Catalabut checks the guest lists. No one seems to be forgotten.

The courtiers surround the cradle of the newborn. Good fairies bring their gifts to her. Suddenly there is a noise: a new fairy drove up to the palace, whom Catalabut forgot to invite to the holiday. This is Carabosse - the most evil and powerful fairy. At the christening of Aurora, she appeared in a chariot drawn by rats and dwarf freaks. In vain is the king, queen and courtiers trying to appease the wicked old woman. Her terrible prediction is revenge for being forgotten:
- Thanks to the gifts of six fairies, Aurora will be the most beautiful, adorable and intelligent princess in the world. Carabosse is unable to take these qualities away from her. But one day, having pricked her finger, Aurora will fall asleep, and her sleep will be eternal.

Everyone is shocked. But the Lilac fairy, who has not yet had time to present her little goddaughter, steps forward.
- Yes, little Aurora will fall asleep, as the fairy Carabosse wished. But not forever. The day will come when the young prince, enchanted by the beauty of the princess, will kiss her and wake her from a long sleep.

Furious, Carabosse gets into his cart and disappears. The king issues the strictest decree, on pain of death, forbidding the use of needles and knitting needles throughout the kingdom.

Twenty years have passed.

On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of Aurora - a magnificent ball in the royal palace. Grooms from all over the kingdom gathered at the ball, ready to ask for the hand of the beautiful princess, but she does not give preference to any of them.

In the midst of the amusement, Aurora notices an old woman beating the beat of her dance with a strange, unfamiliar object. Taking the spindle from the old woman's hands, she whirls merrily with it and, pricking her finger, suddenly stops. Everyone is terrified. A few more movements - and Aurora falls, losing consciousness. The old woman throws off her cloak. Everyone recognizes her as the evil fairy Carabosse. The guards immediately rush to the sorceress, but Carabosse with a devilish laugh disappears into a cloud of flame and smoke.

The Lilac Fairy appears. With a wave of her magic wand, the whole kingdom falls asleep, and the royal garden turns into a dense, impenetrable forest.

ACT TWO

Many years later. Hunting horns are heard in the forest where Prince Desiree is hunting. To amuse the prince, gentlemen and ladies arrange dances. But the prince remains indifferent - none of the ladies present touches his heart. He wants to be alone.

The Lilac Fairy appears. With a wave of her magic wand, she summons a vision of the beautiful Aurora. The rays of the setting sun illuminate her with a wonderful light, and the prince recognizes in her the one who often dreamed of him in his dreams.

Fascinated by her, Desiree follows this shadow, but she always eludes him. Finally, the vision disappears. The prince begs the fairy to show the way to Aurora.

In the distance you can see the castle, immersed in a deep sleep. Only Carabosse and her faithful servants are awake, ready to block the path of anyone who dares to enter the sleeping kingdom. But before the Lilac fairy, evil forces are powerless and forced to retreat.

Desiree enters the palace. The prince is full of joy and happiness: in front of him is his beautiful dream. Leaning towards the sleeping beauty, he kisses her tenderly. From the kiss, Aurora wakes up, and with her everything awakens. The evil Carabosse's spell has been broken. The prince asks for the hand of the beautiful Aurora and receives consent.

The guests gathered in the palace again. The king is celebrating his daughter's wedding. Good fairies and characters from fairy tales came to congratulate Aurora and Desiree - Little Red Riding Hood and the Gray Wolf, the Cat and the Kitty, Cinderella and the Prince, the Blue Bird and Princess Florina. Everyone is happy.

The king and queen had no children for a long time. And then one day, when hope was completely lost, the queen gave birth to a daughter. On this occasion, they arranged a celebration, among the guests were seven good sorceresses.

They were seated in places of honor, the best plates were served to them, and each box, which contained a fork, knife and spoon, made of pure gold. When all the guests were already sitting at the table, the eighth sorceress arrived. She was not invited to the celebration, because they thought that she was no longer in this world. The best plates were immediately brought for her, but the golden box was not enough for her.

Naturally, this greatly offended the old sorceress. She muttered something unpleasant out loud. One sorceress heard this and hid in the children's room. She decided to be the last to say her wish. The moment came when the fairies had to give the newborn gifts.

The fairies presented her with various gifts: beauty, intelligence, kind heart, good voice, the ability to dance and play different instruments. However, the old sorceress wished that the princess died when she was pricked with a spindle. Everyone shuddered, but the last fairy promised that the princess would not die. She will make the princess sleep until the prince wakes her up. Her sleep will last a hundred years.

The king ordered to remove all the spindles from the castle, but after a while the princess pricked her finger and fell asleep. The kind sorceress made sure that everyone in the palace fell asleep, except for the king and queen.

A hundred years later, the prince went hunting. He saw the old palace, and began to ask passers-by about it. One man told him a story about a sleeping princess. The prince's heart burst into flames, and he hurried to the gates of the old castle.

When he entered the castle, he saw many sleeping people. He entered the luxurious room and saw the princess sleeping on the bed. The gold seemed dull compared to the beauty of the princess.

The prince knelt before the princess and she woke up. The castle began to rustle, and the rest of the inhabitants of the house woke up.

The bride and groom were invited to the dining room. They were served dishes of ancient cuisine, and the musicians played songs of the past.

The tale once again proves that good triumphs over evil, and love is able to withstand any evil deeds.

Tales by Charles Perrault

Sleeping Beauty has long become a household name thanks to the fairy tale of the same name by Charles Perrault. This amazing, magical tale about an enchanted princess, for whose birthday they forgot to invite one old fairy who had not left her tower for a long time and everyone thought that she was dead. When all the fairies began to give gifts and call the princess the most beautiful, one evil fairy predicted that she would prick her finger with a spindle and die, everyone was horrified, but the youngest fairy said that she could change the curse - the princess would prick her finger with a spindle and fall asleep for 100 years sound sleep. The king and queen are the parents of the princess, as they could protect their daughter from this evil prophecy. But, as they say, what to be - that cannot be avoided and the prophecy came true, once the princess pricked herself with a spindle and fell asleep, as predicted. Another fairy immediately put the whole kingdom to sleep, except for the king and queen, because they had many things to do that cannot be postponed for 100 years. And the whole kingdom was overgrown with trees, thorny bushes so that no one could disturb the sleeping beauty's sleep. Only the prince, who in 100 years will come to her, was able to wake up the sleeping princess. And so it happened. The prince woke up the sleeping beauty, everyone woke up and became happy.

There lived a king and a queen. They had no children, and this upset them so, so upset that it cannot be said.

And finally, when they completely lost hope, the queen had a daughter.

You can imagine what a holiday was organized on the occasion of her birth, how many guests were invited to the palace, what gifts they prepared! ..

But the most honorable seats at the royal table were reserved for fairies, who at that time still lived here and there in this world. Everyone knew that these good sorceresses, if they just wanted, could give a newborn with such precious treasures that you cannot buy for all the riches of the world. And since there were seven fairies, the little princess should have received from them at least seven wonderful gifts.

In front of the fairies, magnificent dining utensils were placed: plates of the best porcelain, crystal goblets, and a box of cast gold each. Each drawer contained a spoon, fork and knife, also made of pure gold and of the finest workmanship.

And suddenly, when the guests were seated at the table, the door opened, and an old fairy - the eighth in a row - who had been forgotten to invite to the feast, entered.

And they forgot to call her because for more than fifty years she had not left her tower, and everyone thought that she was dead.

The king at once ordered to give her the device. In less than a minute, the servants placed before the old fairy plates of the finest painted porcelain and a crystal goblet.

But the golden box with a spoon, fork and knife was not enough for her share. A total of seven of these boxes were prepared - one for each of the seven invited fairies. Instead of gold pieces, the old woman was given an ordinary spoon, an ordinary fork and an ordinary knife.

The old fairy, of course, was very offended. She thought that the king and queen were impolite and did not receive her as respectfully as they should. Pushing the plate and goblet away from her, she muttered a threat through her teeth.

Fortunately, the young fairy who was sitting next to her heard her murmur in time. Fearing that the old woman might decide to endow the little princess with something very unpleasant - for example, a long nose or a long tongue - she, as soon as the guests got up from the table, made her way into the nursery and hid there behind the curtain of the crib. The young fairy knew that in a dispute, the one who has the last word usually wins, and she wanted her wish to be the last.

And then came the most solemn moment of the holiday: the fairies entered the nursery and, one after another, began to present the newborn with the gifts that they had reserved for her.

One of the fairies wished that the princess was the most beautiful in the world. Another rewarded her with a gentle and kind heart. The third said that she would grow and bloom for everyone's joy. The fourth promised that the princess would learn to dance perfectly, the fifth promised that she would sing like a nightingale, and the sixth that she would play all musical instruments equally skillfully.

Finally, it was the old fairy's turn. The old woman bent over the bed and, shaking her head more with frustration than with old age, said that the princess would prick her hand with a spindle and die from this.

Everyone shuddered to learn what a terrible gift the evil witch had prepared for the little princess. No one could refrain from crying.

And then a young fairy appeared from behind the canopy and said loudly:

- Don't cry, king and queen! Your daughter will stay alive. True, I am not strong enough to make the spoken word ineffable. The princess will have to, sadly enough, prick her hand with a spindle, but from this she will not die, but will only fall asleep in deep sleep and will sleep for a whole hundred years, until the handsome prince wakes her up.

And yet the king decided to try to save the princess from the misfortune that the old evil fairy predicted for her. To do this, on pain of death, he forbade all his subjects to spin yarn and keep spindles and spinning wheels in his house.

The princess wanted to inspect the ancient castle. Running from room to room, she finally reached the very top of the palace tower.

There, in a small room under the roof, an old woman was sitting at a spinning wheel and calmly spinning yarn. Oddly enough, she never heard a word from anyone about the royal prohibition.

- What are you doing, auntie? Asked the princess, who had never seen a spinning wheel in her life.

“I am spinning yarn, my child,” the old woman replied, not even realizing what she was talking to the princess.

- Oh, this is very beautiful! - said the princess. - Let me try, will it work out as well as yours.

She quickly grabbed the spindle and barely had time to touch it when the evil fairy's prediction came true, the princess pricked her finger and fell down dead.

What they didn’t do: they splashed water in the face of the princess, clapped their palms on her palms, rubbed their whiskey with scented vinegar - it was all in vain. The princess didn’t even move.

They ran after the king. He went up to the tower, looked at his daughter and immediately realized that the misfortune that he and the queen feared so much had not passed them.

Wiping away his tears, he ordered to transfer the princess to the most beautiful hall of the palace and lay her on a bed decorated with silver and gold embroidery.

It is difficult to describe in words how good the sleeping princess was. She did not turn pale. Her cheeks remained pink and her lips red like corals.

True, her eyes were tightly closed, but it was audible that she was breathing softly. So it really was a dream, not death.

The king ordered not to disturb the princess until the hour of her awakening comes.

And the good fairy who saved his daughter from death, wishing her a hundred years' sleep, was at that time very far, twelve thousand miles from the castle. But she immediately learned about this misfortune from a little dwarf runner, who had seven-league boots.

The fairy set off at once. Less than an hour later, her fiery chariot, pulled by dragons, had already appeared near the royal palace. The king gave her his hand and helped her off the chariot.

The fairy did her best to comfort the king and queen. But, comforting them, she at the same time thought about how sad the princess would be when, in a hundred years, the poor thing woke up in this old castle and did not see a single familiar face near her.

With her magic wand, she touched everyone who was in the palace, except for the king and queen. And there were court ladies and gentlemen, governesses, maids, butlers, cooks, cooks, walkers, soldiers of the palace guard, gatekeepers, pages and footmen.

She touched with her wand both the horses in the royal stable and the grooms who were combing the horses' tails. She touched the big yard dogs and the little curly dog named Puff, which lay at the feet of the sleeping princess.

And all this happened in one single instant. Fairies know their stuff: wave a wand - and you're done!

Only the king and queen did not fall asleep. The fairy didn't touch them with her wand on purpose, because they had things to do that couldn't be put off for a hundred years.

Wiping away their tears, they kissed their sleeping daughter, said goodbye to her and quietly left the hall.

However, without that it was impossible to approach the castle gates. In just a quarter of an hour, so many trees, large and small, grew around his fence, so many thorny bushes - thorns, rose hips, holly - and all this was so closely intertwined with branches that no one could get through such a thicket.

And only from a distance, and even from the mountain, one could see the tops of the old castle.

The fairy did all this so that neither man nor beast would disturb the sleeping princess.

- Whose castle is this? Who lives in it? - he asked all the passers-by who came across him on the way.

But no one could answer plainly. Each repeated only what he himself heard from others. One said that these were old ruins, in which ostracized lights settled. Another insisted that dragons and poisonous snakes were found there. But most agreed that the old castle belonged to a ferocious man-eating giant.

The prince did not know who to believe. But then an old peasant came up to him and said, bowing:

- Good prince, half a century ago, when I was as young as you are now, I heard from my father that a beautiful princess sleeps in this castle, and that she will sleep for another half a century until a noble and courageous young man will not come and wake her up.

You can imagine how the prince felt when he heard these words!

His heart burst into flames. He immediately decided that it was his luck to awaken the beautiful princess from sleep.

Without thinking twice, the prince pulled the reins and galloped over to where the towers of the old castle were visible.

And here is an enchanted forest in front of him. The prince jumped off his horse, and at once tall thick trees, thickets of thorny bushes - everything parted to make way for him. As if along a long, straight alley, he went to the castle gates.

The prince walked alone. None of his retinue managed to catch up with him: the trees, letting the prince pass, immediately closed behind him, and the bushes again intertwined with branches. It might have scared anyone, but the prince was young and brave. Moreover, he was so anxious to wake up the beautiful princess that he forgot to think about any danger.

Another hundred steps - and he found himself in the spacious courtyard in front of the castle. The prince looked to the right, to the left, and his blood went cold in his veins. Around him lay, sat, stood, leaning against the wall, some people in old clothes. They were all motionless, like the dead.

But, looking at the red, glossy faces of the gatekeepers, the prince realized that they were not dead at all, but simply sleeping. They had cups in their hands, and the wine was not yet dry in the cups. They must have been asleep the minute they were about to drain the bowls to the bottom.

The prince passed a large courtyard paved with marble slabs, climbed the stairs and entered the first room. There, lined up in a row and leaning on their halberds, the soldiers of the palace guards snored with might and main.

He went through a series of richly decorated chambers. In each of them, along the walls and around the tables, the prince saw many dressed up ladies and smart gentlemen. All of them were also fast asleep, some standing, some sitting. And now in front of him, at last, is a room with gilded walls and a gilded ceiling. He entered and stopped.

The prince involuntarily closed his eyes: her beauty was so radiant that even the gold around her seemed dull and pale, He quietly approached and knelt in front of her.

At that very moment, the hour appointed by the good fairy struck.

- Oh, is that you, prince? - she said. - Finally! How long have you made yourself wait ...

Before she had time to finish these words, everything around was awakened.

The first to voice was a small dog named Puff, who was lying at the princess's feet. She barked loudly when she saw a stranger, and the watchdogs answered her with hoarse barks from the yard. Horses began to laugh in the stable, pigeons cooed under the roof.

The fire in the oven crackled as urine as possible, and the pheasants, which the cooks had not had time to fry a hundred years ago, turned red in one minute.

In the room of the palace guards, the soldiers again went about their usual business - stamping their heels and clattering weapons.

And the gatekeepers, who were sitting at the entrance to the palace, finally drained the goblets and again filled them with good wine, which, of course, has become older and better in a hundred years.

The entire castle from the flag on the tower to the wine cellar came to life and rustled.

The prince held out his hand to his bride and led her into the dining room. The princess was beautifully dressed and looked at herself in the mirrors with pleasure, and the prince in love, of course, did not say a word to her that the style of her dress went out of fashion at least a hundred years ago and that such sleeves and collars have not been worn since time his great-great-grandmother.

The bride and groom sat down at the table. The most distinguished cavaliers served them various dishes of the ancient cuisine. And violins and oboes played for them lovely, long-forgotten songs of the last century.

The court poet immediately composed a new, albeit slightly old-fashioned, song about a beautiful princess who slept for a hundred years in an enchanted forest. The song really liked those who heard it, and since then everyone from young to old began to sing it - from cooks to kings.

And who did not know how to sing songs, he told a fairy tale. This tale passed from mouth to mouth and finally reached you and me.

Title of the piece: sleeping Beauty
Charles Perrault
Year of writing: 1697
Genre of the work: fairy tale
Main characters: sleeping Beauty - a princess, Young prince - her husband, Old queen - cannibal.

Plot

The king and queen have no children. After numerous prayers, a beautiful girl was born to them. Fairies are invited to the christening to be accompanied by happiness. Cases are prepared for them, where a fork, spoon and knife are made of pure gold and decorated with stones. But one old sorceress did not receive an invitation because they thought she was dead. An exquisite device was not enough for her, so the old woman was offended. And when they expressed good wishes, she said that the girl would cut her hand with a spindle and die. But another sorceress said that she would not die, but would fall asleep for 100 years. Although the king forbade spinning, the prediction came true. The young prince, seeing the desolate castle, decided to visit it, and when he came he saw a wonderful girl who woke up. The young got married. 2 children were born - Bright Day and Clear Zorya. When the young king went to war, his mother, a cannibal, wanted to eat the children and the bride, but the cook deceived her. As a result, the arrival of the monarch saves his family.

Conclusion (my opinion)

As with all fairy tales, there is a happy ending here. No matter how they wanted to ruin the life of the princess, good won out over evil. Perrault admires love - for its sake it is possible to overcome any obstacles, it saves the world.

Text only:

There lived a king and a queen. They had no children, and this upset them so that it cannot be said. Whatever vows they took, they went on pilgrimages and on healing waters - all in vain.

And finally, when the king and queen lost all hope, they suddenly had a daughter.

You can imagine what kind of holiday they had in honor of her birth! All fairies that could be found in the country were invited to visit the little princess. The fact is that fairies in those days had a wonderful custom: to endow their godchildren with various wonderful gifts. And since there were seven fairies, the princess had to receive from them at least seven merits or virtues as a dowry.

Fairies and other guests gathered at the royal palace, where a festive table was laid for the guests of honor.

In front of the fairies were placed magnificent dining utensils and a box of cast gold. Each drawer contained a spoon, a fork, and a knife, also of pure gold of the finest workmanship, studded with diamonds and rubies. And so, when the guests were seated at the table, the door suddenly opened, and an old fairy - the eighth in a row - who had been forgotten to invite to the christening, entered.

And they forgot to call her because for more than fifty years she did not leave her tower and everyone thought that she had died long ago.

The king ordered that the appliance be brought to her too. The servants did it in an instant, but the golden box with a spoon, fork and knife was not enough for her share. There were only seven of these boxes prepared - one for each of the seven fairies.

The old fairy, of course, was very offended. She thought that the king and queen were impolite people and met her without due respect. Pushing the plate and goblet away from her, she muttered a threat through her teeth.

Fortunately, the young fairy, who was sitting next to her, heard her muttering, and, fearing that the old woman might decide to endow the little princess with some very unpleasant gift, she, as soon as the guests got up from the table, made her way into the nursery and hid there behind the curtain of the crib. She knew that in a dispute, the one who has the last word usually wins, and she wanted her wish to be the last.

When dinner was over, the most solemn moment of the holiday came: the fairies went to the nursery and, one after another, began to present their gifts to the goddaughter.

The youngest of the fairies wished that the princess was the most beautiful in the world. Another fairy rewarded her with a gentle and kind heart. The third said that every movement she made would be delightful. The fourth promised that the princess would dance perfectly, the fifth promised that she would sing like a nightingale, and the sixth that she would play all musical instruments with the same skill.

Finally it was the old fairy's turn. The old woman bent over the bed and, shaking her head more with annoyance than with old age, said that the princess would prick her hand with a spindle and die from this.

Everyone shuddered to learn what a terrible gift the evil witch had in store for the little princess. No one could refrain from crying.

And then a young fairy appeared from behind the canopy and said loudly:

Take comfort, king and queen! Your daughter will stay alive. True, I am not strong enough to make what I have said into words. The princess will have to, sadly enough, prick her hand with a spindle, but from this she will not die, but will only fall asleep deeply and will sleep for exactly a hundred years - until the handsome prince wakes her up.

This promise calmed the king and queen a little.

However, the king decided to try to save the princess from the misfortune that the old evil fairy predicted for her. To do this, by a special decree, he forbade all his subjects to spin yarn on pain of death and keep spindles and spinning wheels in their house.

Fifteen or sixteen years have passed. Once, the king with the queen and daughter went to one of their country palaces.

The princess wanted to inspect the ancient castle, and, running from room to room, she finally got to the very top of the palace tower.

There, in a small room under the roof, an old woman was sitting at a spinning wheel and calmly spinning yarn. Oddly enough, she never heard a word from anyone about the royal prohibition.

What are you doing, auntie? asked the princess, who had never seen a spinning wheel in her life.

I am spinning yarn, my child, ”the old woman replied, not knowing at all what she was talking to the princess.

Ah, this is very beautiful! - said the princess. - Let me try, will it work out as well as yours.

The princess quickly grabbed the spindle and did not have time to touch it when the fairy's prediction came true: she pricked her finger and fell down dead.

The frightened old woman began to call for help. People came running from all sides.

What they did not do: sprinkled water in the princess's face, clapped their palms on her palms, rubbed whiskey with the Queen of Hungary's scented vinegar - nothing helped.

They ran after the king. He went up to the tower, looked at the princess and immediately realized that the sad event, which he and the queen feared so much, had happened.

Sadly, he ordered to transfer the princess to the most beautiful hall of the palace and to lay her there on a bed decorated with silver and gold embroidery.

It is difficult to describe in words how good the sleeping princess was. She did not turn pale. Her cheeks were pink and her lips were red like coral. And although her eyes were tightly closed, it was audible that she was breathing softly.

So it really was a dream, not death.

The king ordered not to disturb the princess until the hour of her awakening comes.

And the good fairy, who saved her goddaughter from death, wishing her a hundred-year sleep, was at that time very far from the royal castle.

But she immediately learned about this misfortune from a little dwarf runner who had seven-league boots (these are such wonderful boots that you should put them on and you will walk seven miles in one step),

The fairy set off at once. Less than an hour later, her dragon-drawn chariot of fire had already appeared near the royal palace. The king gave her his hand and helped her off the chariot.

The fairy did her best to comfort the king and queen. And then, since she was a very prudent fairy, she immediately thought how sad the princess would be when, in a hundred years, the poor thing woke up in this old castle and did not see a single familiar face near her.

To prevent this from happening, the fairy did this.

With her magic wand, she touched everyone who was in the palace (except for the king and queen). And there were courtiers, maids of honor, governesses, maids, butlers, cooks, cooks, walkers, soldiers of the palace guard, gatekeepers, pages and footmen.

She touched with her wand both the horses in the royal stable and the grooms who were combing the horses' tails. She touched the large palace dogs and a small curly dog, nicknamed Puff, which lay at the feet of the sleeping princess.

And immediately everyone touched by the fairy wand fell asleep. They fell asleep for exactly a hundred years in order to wake up with their mistress and serve her, as they did before. Even the partridges and pheasants, which were roasted over the fire, fell asleep. The spit on which they were spinning fell asleep. The fire that roasted them fell asleep.

And all this happened in one single instant. Fairies know their stuff: wave a wand - and you're done!

After that, the king and queen kissed their sleeping daughter, said goodbye to her and quietly left the hall.

Returning to their capital, they issued a decree that no one would dare approach the enchanted castle.

But this could not have been done, because in some quarter of an hour so many trees, large and small, so many thorny bushes - blackthorns and wild roses - grew around the castle, and all this was so closely intertwined with branches that neither man nor beast could not get through such a thicket.

And only from a distance, and even from the mountain, could one see the tops of the towers of the old castle.

The fairy did all this so that no one's curiosity would disturb the peace of the sweet princess.

A hundred years have passed. Many kings and queens have changed over the years.

And then one day the son of the king, who reigned at that time, went hunting.

In the distance, above a dense dense forest, he saw the towers of a castle.

Whose castle is this? - he asked. - Who lives there?

Each answered him what he himself heard from others. Some said that these are old ruins in which ghosts live, others assured that all the witches in the area celebrate their Sabbath in an abandoned castle. But most agreed that the old castle belonged to a cannibal. This cannibal supposedly catches lost children and takes them to his tower to eat without interference, since no one can follow him into his lair - after all, he alone in the world knows the way through the enchanted forest.

The prince did not know whom to believe, but then an old peasant came up to him and said, bowing:

Good prince, half a century ago, when I was as young as you, I heard from my father that the most beautiful princess in the world sleeps in this castle, and that she will sleep for another half a century, until her betrothed , the son of some king, will not come and wake her up.

You can imagine how the prince felt when he heard these words!

His heart burst into flames. He immediately decided that it was his luck to wake up the beautiful princess from sleep!

Without thinking twice, the prince pulled the reins and galloped in the direction where the towers of the old castle were visible, where his love and glory attracted.

And here is an enchanted forest in front of him. The prince jumped off his horse, and immediately tall, thick trees, thorny bushes, thickets of wild rose - everything parted to give him a way. As if along a long straight alley, he went to the castle, which was visible in the distance.

The prince walked alone. None of his retinue managed to follow him - the trees, letting the prince pass, immediately closed behind him, and the bushes again intertwined with branches.

Such a miracle could frighten anyone, but the prince was young and in love, and this is enough to be brave.

Another hundred steps - and he found himself in a spacious courtyard in front of the castle. The prince looked to the right, to the left, and his blood went cold in his veins. Around him lay, sat, stood, leaning against the wall, some people in old clothes. They were all motionless as dead.

But, looking at the red, glossy faces of the gatekeepers, he realized that they were not dead at all, but simply sleeping. They had goblets in their hands, and the wine had not yet dried in the goblets, and this clearly showed that a sudden dream overtook them at the moment when they were about to drain the cups to the bottom.

The prince passed a large courtyard paved with marble slabs, climbed the stairs, entered the hall of the palace guards. The men at arms slept standing, lined up in a row, with carbines on their shoulders, and snored with might and main.

He went through many chambers, full of dressed-up court ladies and smart gentlemen. All of them were also fast asleep, some standing, some sitting.

Finally, he entered a room with gilded walls and a gilded ceiling. He walked in and stopped.

On the bed, the canopy of which was thrown back, lay a beautiful young princess of about fifteen or sixteen years old (not counting the century that she slept).

The prince involuntarily closed his eyes: her beauty was so radiant that even the gold around her seemed dull and pale. Trembling with delight, he approached and knelt in front of her.

At that very moment, the hour appointed by the good fairy struck.

The princess woke up, opened her eyes and looked at her deliverer.

Oh, is that you, prince? - she said. - Finally! How long have you kept yourself waiting! ..

Before she had time to finish these words, everything around was awakened.

Horses began to laugh in the stable, pigeons cooed under the roof. The fire in the stove roared as urine as possible, and the pheasants, which the cooks did not have time to fry a hundred years ago, blushed in one minute.

The servants, under the supervision of the butler, were already setting the table in the mirrored dining room. And the ladies of the court, waiting for breakfast, straightened their locks, disheveled for a hundred years, and smiled at their sleepy gentlemen.

In the hall of the palace guards, the men at arms again went about their usual business - they stomped with their boots and clattered their weapons.

And the gatekeepers, who were sitting at the entrance to the palace, finally drained the cups and again filled them with good wine, which, of course, had become older and better in a hundred years.

The entire castle - from the flag on the tower to the wine cellar - came to life and rustled.

And the prince and princess heard nothing. They looked at each other and couldn't get enough of it. The princess forgot that she had not eaten anything for a whole century, and the prince did not even remember that he had not had poppy dewdrops in his mouth in the morning. They talked for four whole hours and did not even have time to say half of what they wanted.

But everyone else was not in love and therefore starved to death.

Finally, the head maid of honor, who was as hungry as everyone else, could not bear it and reported to the princess that breakfast was served.

The prince held out his hand to his bride and led her into the dining room.

The princess was beautifully dressed and looked at herself with pleasure in the mirrors, and the prince in love, of course, did not say a word to her that the style of her dress had gone out of fashion at least a hundred years ago and that such sleeves and collars were not worn since the time of his great-great-grandmother.

However, in the old-fashioned dress she was the best in the world.

The groom and the bride sat down at the table.

The song really liked those who heard it, and since then everyone from young to old, from cooks to kings, began to sing it.

And who did not know how to sing songs, he told a fairy tale. This tale passed from mouth to mouth and finally reached you and me.

This is one of the wonderful tales of the French storyteller Charles Perot. It tells that love conquers everything, even the most terrible charms of evil and offended people. The main characters of the tale are the princess and the prince.

A princess -heiress to the throne. Very beautiful. The long-awaited child in the royal family. In honor of the birth, which was held a feast for the whole world. There were a lot of guests, everyone was happy about the child. They gave fabulous gifts that cannot be bought in any store. Only one evil sorceress was not happy. She predicted the death of the girl from an injection with a sharp spindle when she turns 15. And so it happened. The witch put the entire castle to sleep for 100 years.

Prince - the one who decided to bring the princess back to life. Young, handsome, ambitious. Like all brave royal sons, he performs feats. He goes through many obstacles. But all the same, his passionate kiss brings the princess back to life. The charms of any witch are powerless before love. The parents give their consent for the wedding of the prince and princess.

Secondary heroes of the tale

King -part-time head of state and father of the princess. He and his queen wife were expecting a child for a long time. Although he ordered to remove all the spinning wheels and spindles out of sight, the cunning and insidious sorceress still managed to push the girl to one of them so that she pricked her finger.

Queen - the king's wife and the princess's mother. Together with her husband-king, I waited so long for the birth of a child.

Fairies - there were 7 of them. Good old women-sorceresses. We gave the girl wonderful fabulous gifts.

Evil fairy - they did not invite her to the princess's birthday, so she appeared herself. She even had nowhere to sit. Seeing that she was not welcome here, she decided to retaliate with evil. And she conjured death to the princess at the age of 15 from an injection with a sharp spindle.

Little fairy - this is a kind little man who is not yet a real wizard, but is just learning. But it was she who played an important role in the life of all the inhabitants of the kingdom. It is not clear why, at the time of presenting gifts to the princess, she hid behind her crib. Perhaps she had a presentiment of something.

She was unable to neutralize the wishes of the evil old witch. Apparently, knowledge and experience was not enough. But she softened him. Having pricked on a sharp spindle, the princess was not supposed to die, but to fall asleep for 100 years. Until her prince-liberator comes into this world.

No matter how hard the parents tried, the evil sorceress outwitted them. And somewhere I found a spindle. The princess injected herself, but did not die, but fell asleep. The clever young fairy put everyone in a dream for 100 years before the prince appeared in this kingdom.

Old lady -the culprit of all troubles. For some reason, she did not hear about the ban on spinning wheels and spindles and continued to use them. But the evil witch was about her spindle and pricked the princess's finger. Granny was very scared.

Princess doggie - loyal hairy friend of the girl. It was he who notified the whole kingdom that the princess was awake. And, therefore, all other residents need to wake up.

There were also courtiers, footmen, soldiers, maids, gatekeepers, and other palace servants. And also a dwarf runner and an old peasant.

Composition 2

The Sleeping Beauty is a wonderful tale by Charles Perot. It talks about the all-conquering power of love, it conquers everything and even the witchcraft of evil sorcerers. There are two main characters in the tale - a princess and a prince.

The princess was a long-awaited child, heir to the throne. She was born very beautiful. The whole kingdom celebrated her birth. There were many guests who were happy and congratulated the happy parents. They gave magical gifts that were not sold anywhere. Only the evil sorceress was not happy, she was not even invited to the holiday. She appeared herself and predicted the death of the girl at the age of 15, from a sharp spindle. The prophecy came true, When the girl was 15 years old, she accidentally stumbled upon the only spinning wheel left in the kingdom and pricked her finger. But she did not die, but only fell asleep in a deep sleep, for a hundred years. Only a kiss of love could wake her up. The whole kingdom fell asleep with her. And for a hundred years the castle was hidden from human eyes by impenetrable thickets.

The prince was young, bold and handsome. When he found out about the sleeping princess, in a mysterious castle, he decided, no matter what, to wake up the princess and the whole castle. He overcame many obstacles, but still got to the castle. He saw the princess and fell in love with her at first sight. He kissed the princess and she awoke from her sleep. Love defeated the evil spell of the witch. The castle came to life and the parents agreed to the wedding of the prince and the princess.

The princess's parents, the King and Queen, have been expecting a child for a long time. And so they had a daughter, whom everyone loved, at the celebration of her birth, the evil sorceress cursed her, but the young good fairy softened him. Parents tried to protect their child from the curse, but they did not succeed. On the fifteenth birthday of the princess, the entire kingdom fell into a deep, deep sleep.

Fairies, of which there were 7. They were kind old women - sorceresses. The fairies presented the child with wonderful fabulous gifts.

The evil fairy was not invited to the princess's birthday, she came herself. They didn't find a place for her to sit down. When she realized that she was not welcome here, she retaliated with evil. Conjured the death of the princess.

The young fairy was a young girl who was just learning magic, so she could not completely cancel the spell of the evil sorceress, but only soften death with sleep. At the moment when the princess was presented with gifts, she hid behind her crib.

After the words of the evil sorceress, the fairy came out of her hiding place and changed her death to a hundred-year sleep. The prince can wake the girl up and kiss her.

The old woman from behind, to whom everything happened, the princess pricked her finger on her spindle.

The princess's dog was a friend of the girl. He was the first to wake up and with his bark announced the removal of witchcraft.
